The Aether Entertainer Magazine

Founded in 2021 on Aether, The Aether Entertainer is player-made virtual magazine covering music, theatre, art, current events, and Eorzean popular culture. AE is a SFW publication that aims to provide information about venues, promote creators and upcoming events, as well as provide a pass time while drinking coffee. We often volunteer or sponsor other entity's events or even host our own at our home location, AE Cafe'. New publications are released monthly.

After years of IRL work experience as a journalist, I looked for a way to marry my interest in video games and FFXIV with my love and passion for writing and telling stories. Luckily, I found a home at Aether Entertainer. When I’m not working on a piece, I serve as the Onion Pope, offering Onion Blessings and just generally onions to Eorzeans. Greetings, my name is Milo Starchild. I am the team's new designer for the Aether Entertainer Magazine, and I have been a member of FFXIV ever since 2.0. Before this, I used to be the lead vocalist in my band Milo and the DeaD StarS; we're currently on hiatus. I also tried my hand in Eorzean cinema as a movie actor and I'm currently in retirement from the business. My inspirations for design have always been my love for 80s and 90s nostalgia as well as horror and the downtown nightlife. I'm not what you'd consider a good writer. In fact, I let the visuals speak for themselves; "Show, don't tell!" is my motto..

Lily had a knack for writing—ever since she was a young Miqo’te with bright eyes, rose-tinted hair, and a constellation of curious white freckles. From the moment she could hold a quill, she was following townsfolk about, “investigating”—or, as they called it, snooping. She wrote about everything and everyone. The old baker who secretly slipped burnt rolls into the day’s new batch. The fisherman convinced that this was the day he’d catch “the big one.” Her parchment was filled with the life of the village, though not everyone saw the charm. “Writing won’t fill your coinpurse!” and “Mind your own business, girl!” were refrains she knew all too well. Despite her best halfhearted efforts, Lily could never fit neatly into the crafts her kin so valued. Smithing bored her to tears, armorsmithing was a disaster, and alchemy—well, more than one workshop went up in smoke the moment she wandered in. So she did what any restless soul with ink in her veins would do: she left. Now, Lily writes for The Aether Entertainer, shining a quill’s light on the dazzling venues and performers of Eorzea. Her world is words and wonder, ink stains and half-finished notes scattered across her desk. More often than not, she falls asleep with a quill tangled in her hair and smudges on her cheeks. And truth be told—she wouldn’t trade it for all the gil in Ul’dah.

Old Paladin gone Fisher main, Odsar is a woman of odd habits and the inexplicable need to never retire despite several doctors orders. Moving from a focus on event journalism to photography, she tends to mull around various Aether Entertainer events looking for the right inspiration to either write or shoot, and can be seen as an easy one to pick out in the crowd (if she wants to). When not working at Aether Entertainer, she has her hands in managing her sister-in-law's venue's bard group (Lunar Tear Bards) or killing time knee deep in bogs fishing. Sometimes both at the same time! Not often, but sometimes!

I found The Aether Entertainer in Scandal’s discord, because they were featured in the magazine. I was impressed with the quality of text, pictures, and media within the magazine. I could tell this group of people was dedicated to putting out a quality product. As a member of the corporate world, I have learned to value people highly and their impact on my quality of life. I hope I can do the same in joining this group.
I will help where I can and look forward to our growth. Age wise, let’s just say I am older than most people that play here. I am always willing to lend an ear, and if applicable, advice.
My recent gaming experience mainly consists of D&D and FFXIV. I have filled nearly every role in D&D. My favorite role is tactician and setting up other characters to have their moments. In FFXIV, I am mostly a ranged DPS with occasional stints in tanking and magical DPS. I just started going to venues over the past couple months. My first love is crafting though, if I am not at my house’s rooftop, you will probably find me by the Limsa scrips trader. Ultimately, I would like to set my houses to be used by anyone who needs a venue/home for the night. I am not really worried about gil. I just want to share and be part of a great community.

Hello, my name is Jayleen. My Pen name/Online presence is Catrina Calamity. My main (Sayoko Kurone) is on Primal in Excalibur. I am a graphic designer. I have a BFA with a focus in graphic design and have studied digital media and animation as well. I have a lot of freelance experience as well as experience doing graphic design work for charities/non-profits. One of which being ShopRite’s Partners in Caring. I have done illustration work. I have also done commission work of peoples FFXIV OCs and favorite characters. I have some experience in designing website and app layouts. I have also done character design commission work for someone who is creating a video game.
Sayoko is a creative who apprenticed under Godbert Manderville. She is very business savvy, intelligent, and overall creative. She has a passion for everything she puts her heart into and can do anything she sets her mind to.
